Larry Tietze, Clarinet/Bass Clarinet
Larry Tietze has been clarinetist with the Virtuosi Woodwind Quintet for over 40 years, having toured the United States under the auspices of Columbia Artists. He was principal clarinetist with the Sante Fe-based 20th Century Unlimited Contemporary Music Ensemble in the 1990s. As general manager and clarinetist with the Atlantic Sinfonietta, he co-produced and was principal clarinetist on the CD series, "Music for Martha", ballet music that is used around the world by the Martha Graham Dance Company when in performance. He is principal clarinetist/orchestra manager of the NY Gilbert & Sullivan Players at Symphony Space & City Center in New York City. He has been solo bass clarinetist with the Hudson Valley Philharmonic for 42 years. The former principal clarinetist with the Goldovsky, Virginia, and Lake George Operas, Mr. Tietze the former solo first clarinetist of the West Point Band during the Vietnam War era.
