    The Hudson Valley Symphony Orchestra opens its 2026-2027 season with music by Mozart, Rossini, and Verdi! Imre Palló, conductor of the HVP from 1976-1991, returns to lead the HVSO in this joyful reunion. Hear Rossini’s Overture to La scala di seta and Mozart's operatic Symphony No. 40 in G minor. Soprano Aubry Ballarò and baritone Luis Ledesma join the orchestra performing highlights from Rigoletto and La Traviata by Verdi. Don’t miss this captivating concert full of lyricism and drama!

    Joseph Schwantner | New Morning for the World: Daybreak of Freedom
    W.A. Mozart | Requiem

    The HVSO and Cappella Festiva partner again to present a musical journey from tragedy to transcendence. Hear New Morning for the World by Joseph Schwantner, with words from Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Next, be immersed in Mozart’s sublime final work, the Requiem. Christine Howlett leads the orchestra and chorus in this stirring program.

    This concert is presented in remembrance of Maestro Randall Craig Fleischer, beloved Music Director from 1992-2020. Fleischer planned to conduct this concert with the orchestra in March of 2020. It was the first concert canceled due to the pandemic. We perform it now in his memory.

    In our season finale, hear folk and symphonic music side by side! Folk music and travel have inspired classical composers for centuries. Be inspired with us as we present music with influences from around the world. Hear Mendelssohn's "Scottish" Symphony No. 3 and Gabriela Lena Frank's Elegía Andina. Hudson Valley legends Jay Ungar and Molly Mason join the HVSO for the Harvest Home Suite and their iconic Ashokan Farewell! Conductor Emily Schaad, former violist with the HVP and co-founder of Stringendo Orchestra School, returns to the Hudson Valley to lead this exciting season finale!
