Daniel Merriman, Bass

Daniel Merriman is a double bassist and educator who resides in the Hudson Valley region of New York state. He is a member of the Hudson Valley Philharmonic, was previously a member of the Reading Symphony Orchestra, and regularly performs with the New Jersey Festival Orchestra, Albany Symphony, and Glens Falls Symphony. His summer orchestral engagements have included appearances with Mostly Modern Festival, The Lake Placid Sinfonietta, The Endless Mountain Music Festival, and the Phoenicia Festival of Voice.

In addition to his performance engagements, Daniel is an adjunct Artist in Music at Vassar College. He holds a Masters of Music degree from SUNY Purchase, a Bachelors of Music degree from the University of Hartford and pursued doctoral studies at Rutgers University. His primary teachers include New York Philharmonic Principal Bassist Timothy Cobb and soloist Robert Black.
